What a wonderful Saturday....

Ok, so your asking yourself..what has been so wonderful for Ronda today? I will tell you.

My day started with waking up in the arms of my beloved husband, followed with coffee and a quiet, peaceful morning with us talking, watching the news, me reading a portion of another "old" book, and both of us waiting for the sun to rise, seeing as how we awoke long before Mr. Sun did...LOL.

Bob and I then decided to go to Ryan's for their breakfast bar...mmmmm yummy!

We had already planned to go to our local farmers market for some yummy veggies and stuff. We got a 40 lb box of sweet potatoes, a large bag of REAL, stone ground, old fashioned, grits...you know the kind that takes 35 minutes to cook...not that instant junk. We fell in love with them a few years ago when we bought a bag at Dollywood. Ever since then...we've been hooked. Man once you've had real grits...there ain't no goin' back baby!!!

Then we finished off the farmers market with our favorite vendor and we purchased, again this weekend (just as we did last weekend) a 2 lb roll of Amish Butter, supplied from a local Tennessee Amish Farm. Um..no we didn't eat a two pound log in one week...silly, we are stocking up on things. This butter is amazing. I will tell you this...there is nothing in the world like PURE butter, only cream and a little salt, with no additives or anything. The taste is out of this world! And price...well it's a little cheaper than getting 2 pounds of the "so called" real butter at the local grocery store. If you ever taste Amish butter, and then compare it to the taste of the store bought...you will understand. So having finished our trip to the farmers market we headed to a local bread store near our home to check some sale prices on things. We found a few things we needed, and then headed to Ingle's grocery. We nabbed a fab deal on some banana's, ground chuck and a few other things we needed, got some of our Rx's that were ready for pick up, and out the door towards home.

We had discussed the weather and how windy it was going to be, so my darling husband has been helping me carry laundry up and down the stairs all day,  and seeing as how the wind is strong and I am not, he has lent a strong hand helping put things on our clothes line. We have washed everything in the house! All of our bed linens and blankets, and much, much more. It has been so terribly windy that no matter how big and heavy the blankets have been, nothing has taken longer than 30 min's to dry. Now everything is clean and smells so wonderful. My sweet hub's has truly enjoyed the freshness of the laundry as much as I, and we both love how the Lord has supplied all this wonderful wind....free of charge...all we had to do was make good use of what He has supplied for us! Thank You Lord! Imagine that...God supplied and all it required was us getting into action. Hmmm, maybe we should all do this a little more often?? LOL.

My darling hub's has even helped me with a few other household chores as well. We have just taken our time and truly enjoyed just doing even simple household chores.....together.  Then we have both taken turns at a little work out on the tread mill too.

Sometimes, I truly think we ALLOW our lives to be dictated by society.
Society and the world says....you must do this and that, go here, be there in order to find something fun and enjoyable to do. Movies, shopping, theme parks, and all the other hundreds of things that are out there, which everyone says you have to do these things in order to say that you have had something "fun" to do.
Yet, the older I get, and the more of life I am ever so blessed to experience, I say.....NO. Simple pleasure's are often the best. Yes, even a day which is, in it's most basic of descriptions, a day full of selected grocery shopping and household chores, can and has turned out to be a "simple and very enjoyable day"!

Simplicity...
Necessity's tended to...
Fun obtained by both...
A day spent...."together"...

Now we are fixing to make dinner. Homemade sweet potato fries and hamburger's, followed with a fruit salad of sorts for desert.  Yumm!!

So again I say...."What a wonderful Saturday"!

I hope your day was equally as full of such simple pleasure's and joys, and that all of it was shared with your loved one's whom are most precious!

Have A Peachy Keen Day!
Love & Prayers,
Ronda
