Well today I will be doing lots of paper work to prepare for Saturday. We will be taking our redneck to Charlotte to take the entrance exam for college. So today I have to finish all the paper work that's needed for Saturday. Filling out all the FAFSA papers, tax stuff, etc. It's going to be lots of fun let me tell ya' LOL.
It's so very hard to imagine our "little boy" (haha, he's 6 ft 3 in tall)going off to Nashville to college. I pray things will go well for him. I also pray he will stay away from the temptations that are out there for college kids, away from home for the first time. I know that God has called him to preach, but even young preachers are tempted daily, just like all the rest of us.
Well today is also a repeat of yesterday. By yesterday afternoon all the snow had melted away, and last night while we were in church, the snow started all over again. When hubby and I awoke this morning, we found a snow covered driveway, yard and roads. Hubby took my car to work today, so this leaves me at home. Darn, now ain't that a shame,LOL. This is perfect as far as I am concerned. God made away for me to have the entire day for paper work that needs to be finished.Ya' know the only problem with snow is the bone chilling cold that never seems to go away. I'm not to fond of being cold anymore.
I heard from an old friend this morning via email, Sheila. Now admittedly, I haven't been so good at keeping touch with folks in the past few years. Lives change, people go to different churches, and it seems life just gets in the way some how. I have had the opportunity to see her from time to time at different events, yet God forgive me,even when she (or others) would cross my mind I would think "I need to call _______", then short minded as I am, poof the thought would be gone. Well I do hope to be able to NOT make that same mistake again. She is a terrific lady, with such a joyous spirit, and a love of family and life (from what I remember, I don't see that changing for her). You occasionally in life meet people that your heart just seems to attach to and you seem to have so much in common with, or that you are meant to have as friends. She is such a person. Her hubby is someone that I have known since high school, and he was friends with my Darling brother Jerry. They have such great kids. One is a boy that for all time, as far as I am concerened, will always be remembered as "stitches". The young'un seemed to always need or have stitches some where on his body, thus his nickname. I wonder if it has stuck with Himm all this time????Well I must go and tiddy the house, start thinking about beef stew for supper tonight, and "paper work"(hmmm fun, not).
Love and Prayers,
